ETHNIC FESTIVAL OF NEPA AT KING'S COLLEGE
St. Anthony + St. George Maronite Parish joined with other groups from the
Wyoming Valley to participate in the Ethnic Festival of NEPA sponsored by The
Fraternal Societies of NEPA and King's College to benefit the Wyoming Valley
Habitat for Humanity. The Ethnic Festival was held on Saturday and Sunday,
August 5-6, at the Scandlon Fieldhouse, King's gymnasium, on North Main Street
in Wilkes-Barre. Many parishioners took turns serving as hosts at our booth
during the two-day affair. Lebanese food was supplied by many parishioners and
businesses in the city. Those coming to our booth could purchase a variety of
foods and other ethnic materials. Parishioners also supplied Lebanese materials
to decorate the booth and supply information about Lebanon and the current
events.

Msgr. Bonczewski was very busy both days discussing and informing
visitors of the unfolding events in Lebanon. Many visitors stopped to ask
questions about the current conditions in Lebanon and the Middle East and to
express their opinions and their wishes of peace and safety to the Lebanese
people.
Our participation in the Ethnic Festival was very successful and our ethnic foods were completely sold out before the end of the festival!
