THANK YOU NOTES:

A worthy thank you goes to Woody, the Elias Family and to everyone who helped work the Spaghetti Dinner served in honor of St. George Feast Day.  Thank you everyone for all the good work you put in to preparing for the dinner, to everyone who worked last Sunday doing the cooking, serving, and clean up.  Also we acknowledge all the generous benefactors who contributed all the products and to all our parishioners, friends and neighbors for their patronage.

A thank you goes to Cheryl Bienick for her good and generous project of the basket raffle.  Thank you for donating all the prizes and for the raffle and for the ticket sales.  All together from the dinner and raffle, this little parish fundraiser took in a little over $1,100.00.  Again thank you everyone.

Another very worthy thank you goes to the President Lillian Madaya and all the members of the Altar and Rosary Society for the wonderful receptions served after our Parish Mission this past Tuesday.  Thank you for the wonderful variety of food and goodies you all provided for our parishioners and guests.  Thank you for the very kind attention you gave to our visiting clergy.  I also am very grateful to all our Parishioners and visitors who were able to attend the Parish Mission.  I am truly grateful to Father Christopher for all he did for us in this Mission and I also am grateful for all the guest Priests who helped to hear Confession.

YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK THIS OUT:  This is a brief summery of our finances from only 2 sources of income just to give you an idea of what is involved in this area and in our ordinary expenses and utilities.  At the end of the year you will have a report on all our income and expenses.

From January – April 2008:

Regular Sunday Collection -  $31,230.22                      Regular Parish Expenses…$31,031.44

Fuel Collection ………...……  1,019.00                        Fuel- Gas Expense…….…..   8,527.05

                                                                                    Fuel- Electric Expense……   1,568.47

                                                                                    Snow Plowing……………    2,185.00

We actually do have a parish of very generous parishioners.  You will see in the complete report how the response is consistently generous for the extra request for offerings and for charity.  The parishioners of our parish do very much to contribute to so many requests.  As you very well know there is this situation we are all in where costs keep going up especially in these places of energy and things like insurance.  Also at this same time repairs and upkeep goes on as usual and we have to do our duty the best we can.

In the history of our parish and in most parishes, in the past there was normally much struggling, but in those days everyone did what they were able and they took care of their duties and even built up the community.  Naturally the expenses in those days were much less than today and the income was also very much less than what we receive today. Everyone did what they could back then and this is what we need to do in our time.  I thank you one and all for all you give to support your parish church.  As you can see we now come to a time when we need to keep on going forward and we need to be faithful to our obligations as best we can and support our Maronite Parish and our Maronite Church.
