Father of goodness and love; hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the

Lord Jesus who healed those who believed.

Dear Beloved Parishioners and Friends of St. Anthony and St. George,

Grace and Peace be with you in Christ Jesus, Our Lord and Life, and the King of Peace. The wonderful time of Christmas is coming to an end and the New Year is upon us. We pray 2018 will be the year of peace. We are seeing many countries in this world burning around us, and every year we wish peace to take place all over the world, but it doesn’t happen. I now have the answer: The true peace comes from Jesus Christ who said in the Bible, “My peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you”. (John 14:27). Peace is the tranquility of God, the happiness of mind, and the everlasting friendship with God. This relationship with God will then guide us to more friendship in this world. Here we can ask: How do we get peace? What is our role or duty? Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us the key when He said, “I do not let your heart be troubled”. Jesus led his disciples and us after them, with encouragements, to take heart and to be peacemakers.

Here is the secret: Peace doesn’t happen if we wait for it to come, but peace happens, if we make it. Nobody asks us to go away to establish it, but we can make peace wherever we are: at home, in our streets, in our churches and so on. My dear parishioners and friends, the real peace that we want is already waiting for us.

I wish you a very happy, healthy, blessed and peaceful New Year!

God bless you!
